I believe in a world where living in a healthy manner is not a burden or a chore.  It is the most natural state of existence for us, as demonstrated by the above A.T. Still quote. I get excited about helping anyone to live the most healthy existence possible. I believe if each person within the ecosystem of a family and community is healthy, that will promote the health of the family, community, and world at large. What is good for me, is good for my family, which is good for my community, which is good for my world.

Amy Doherty, DO

“The first step in Osteopathy is the belief in our own bodies.  The next step is to advance that belief to an intelligent understanding.  You will learn that the body is a self-creative, self-developing, self-sustaining, self-repairing, self-recuperating, self-propelling, self-adjusting, and does all these things on its own power.”

— A.T. Still, DO

Education and Training

Dr. Doherty spent 8 years in training between school and residency, then spent 10 years in practice before undergoing new Functional Medicine training for the past several years. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Illinois Wesleyan, followed by her Doctorate in Osteopathy at Des Moines University. She then completed a Family Practice Residency, and then completed another residency in Osteopathic Manipulation giving her dual board certification in both Family Practice and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. She completed her Osteopathic Residency with one of the brightest luminaries in the field- Dr. Edward Stiles. Dr. Stiles learned directly from the grandson of the inventor of the profession and other legends in the field and has been called the greatest living clinical Osteopath. After practicing medicine full time for 10 years and finding the system lacking, she sought Functional Medicine Certification and started her own practice to serve patients better.

Diana Charlebois, NP

Education and Training

Diana began her career in nursing as a licensed practical nurse in the 1990s before pursuing her transition to registered nurse. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI in 2009. She next obtained her master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University out of Hyden, Kentucky and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017. Before completing graduate school, she worked as a nurse in long-term care and hospital settings, dedicating over 10 years to women's health and obstetrics.

After working in the traditional model for a time, she became discouraged by the constraints of the traditional healthcare system. This prompted her to pursue additional education in functional and lifestyle medicine, obtaining her AFMC certification from the School of Applied Functional Medicine in July, 2024.

Dr. Brenda Blohm brings over 30 years of medical experience and a lifetime of service to the KlarCare team. Like many physicians, she stepped away from the traditional insurance-based healthcare system after witnessing the growing frustrations and limitations it placed on both patients and providers. While now retired from active medical practice and no longer maintaining a prescribing license, Dr. Blohm continues to serve the community she loves in meaningful ways, and we are the luckiest clinic I know to have her helping out in this way!
